
It was hard to know what was more striking about the tasting of eight Syrahs and Shirazes from around the world: Was it the fact that producers from five different countries were all pouring extraordinary Syrahs, or was it the realization that all the wines were so vividly different from one another? However you looked at it, the tasting proved that while Syrah is one of the wine world's hottest commodities, there's certainly no danger of homogeneity.
