Paul Frank's fascination with wine started in his college years, when he was a self-described "nerd with a bottle" at fraternity parties. He went on to a successful 35-year career in the diamond business, but left it behind in 1992 when he purchased a vineyard in Napa Valley and founded Gemstone Vineyard.
