Napa Valley is already divided into 13 official subappellations, but Calistoga -- although as well-known for its Cabernets as for its hot springs -- is not among them. So Chateau Montelena co-owner Bo Barrett filed a petition with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to establish a Calistoga American Viticultural Area.
