California Cabernet: A Look Ahead

The 2002 vintage is marked by quality swings

Buying futures for 2002 California Cabernets would be risky business at this stage. It appears to be another mixed vintage; some exceptional wines were made, but others are less inspiring. Earlier this year, I spent two days tasting nearly 120 barrel samples from 2002.
