It's a matter of how you gauge appreciation

I have always believed that the appreciation of wine is a concept better explored in the glass than in the bank account. Despite the dramatic gains that some wines have made in the past decade, since 1994 the Wine Spectator Auction Index has lagged slightly behind the Dow Jones industrial average.
