Burgundy's Two-Speed Vintage
In 2000 Pinot Noir, the Côte de Nuits outpaces the Côte de Beaune
The 2000 red Burgundies may disappoint aficionados of long-lived and complex Pinot Noirs, but one could do worse than drink the best 2000s over the next few years. Burgundy produced its share of mediocre bottles in this vintage due to challenging September weather and an overabundant crop.
