
Austria provides a new twist for wine lovers: Its relatively undiscovered red wines are now as exciting as its white wines and luscious dessert nectars. A group of dedicated Austrian winemakers capitalized on a string of warm vintages in 1997, 1999 and 2000 to make some of the best young reds I have tasted from this Alpine nation.
