Photograph Guidelines

To enhance our Dining Guide, we are pleased to accept photographs of your restaurant's wine director or sommelier for the 2010 Dining Guide.

Each restaurant may submit one head shot for consideration. If your photo is selected for use in the Dining Guide, you must be willing to fully authorize M. Shanken Communications, Inc. the right to use it without credit.

The photograph must meet the following technical requirements:

• The head shot should only show the head from the shoulders up, with a small space around the head
• The file should be at least 5 inches by 7 inches at a resolution of 300 dpi (or approximately 1 MB in size).
• The file name (or "info") must include the name of your restaurant and the person's name.
• The file must be submitted to our ftp server. (E-mailed images or hard copies of photographs will not be accepted.)

The deadline to submit your head shot is March 1, 2010. (Restaurant Wine List Awards entries must be received by Feb. 1, 2010.) Please follow these instructions to upload your head shot to our FTP server.

FTP Uploader Software & Instructions: To submit your head shot, download the FTP Uploader software. The software will provide you with a drop box through which you may submit your photograph directly to our ftp server

We will begin accepting photo submission for the 2010 program on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010.

Windows users will need Winzip (www.winzip.com) and Mac users will need StuffIt Expander (www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html) to decompress the files.

After the program is decompressed and installed, a folder labeled 'Upload' will appear on your desktop. Open the folder and drag the Upload icon    to your desktop. You can now submit your head shot to Wine Spectator's Restaurant Wine List Awards program by dragging and dropping a photograph file onto the icon.

You may add any comments to your upload, but remember that you must include the name of your restaurant and the name of the person pictured in the file's name or "info" field. The upload may take a few minutes. First time FTP Uploader users will receive a message when the upload is complete. Wine Spectator's Restaurant Wine List Awards Program is not able to confirm receipt of your head shot.
