Dear Dr. Vinny,
What can be done with expensive Chardonnays that are well past their prime? I have a number of bottles of Kistler, Peter Michael and Ramey (for example) from the '96-'98 vintages that I feel are undrinkable. Too much wine, too little time!

Have you overlooked the obvious idea to just give them away to someone who might like them? Or did you write just to brag about the riches of your cellar? If these stellar bottles of wine are really weighing you down, dump them down the sink. But don't expect many Chardonnay lovers—including me—to feel sorry for you.
