Dear Dr. Vinny,
I am currently doing my restaurant wine list—it is an intensive wine list that contains over 100 wines—and wonder, is there any rule to build in the sequence of wine names?

Our own Nathan Wesley, who manages our Restaurant Awards program (and views thousands of wine lists a year), says that there are no set rules, but your list should be consistent, and every wine should be listed with its correct producer, appellation and vintage. Sounds like solid advice to me.
