Wine Spectator seeks an editorial assistant. This is an entry-level position, reporting to executive editor Thomas Matthews. The duties are essentially clerical and administrative, but with experience and initiative will include researching and writing on both the print and digital arms of the publications. Candidates should have experience in journalism and a passion for wine, demonstrated though their education or in the workplace. Enthusiasm, attention to detail, communication skills and a strong work ethic are fundamental prerequisites. Position is based in New York City; no exceptions. Wine Spectator is looking for a motivated individual to help support Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards operations, editorial content about restaurants and food-and-beverage trends, and other cross-departmental duties. This full-time position will initially be largely responsible for administrative tasks, but offers opportunities in reporting, writing and digital content production related to dining.
Candidates should have an educational background in journalism/communications; at least one year’s experience in publishing and/or administrative fields; and a passion for wine and dining.
