Aug. 29, 2003: VIÑA SAN PEDRO Cabernet Sauvignon Lontué Valley Castillo de Molina Reserva 2001 (86 points, $11)

This Chilean Cabernet has a firm layer of toast and chocolate, but also enough currant and black cherry fruit underneath for balance. Good focus on the finish, too. Never really fans out, but solid. Drink now through 2004. 80,000 cases made. Best Values. —James Molesworth
