Football (soccer) is life in Italy. I am sitting in Castilgone della Pescia on the coast of Tuscany with some friends, and I can hear the horns of cars and the screams of people. Everyone is so happy here! Italy is the champion of the world tonight. They have the soul and passion.
This is what also makes great wines – passion. I had a bottle of 1997 Clerico Barolo Pajana and 2001 Petrolo Galatrona. They are wines of passion too. That’s what makes great Italian wines great.
Congratulations Italy. And I am sorry that France didn’t win as well because they played super well! But forza Italia!
Ironically, we are drinking Champagne in celebration. But it’s the greatest sparkling wine in the world. Great match!
