Considering Ridge's Greatest Wine

Hint: It's not the red you're thinking of

Contrary to most California wine lovers, I've found that my favorite Ridge wines were the Chardonnays, and the estate bottling is an absolutely brilliant expression of that grape. The 2007 combines richness with an elegant, delicate mouthfeel, deep layers of ripe fig, honeydew melon, ripe green pear and smoky oak. I wondered if I was the only person on earth who thought Ridge’s whites were better than its reds.
