The Rhône, Day 1: Hitting the Ground Running

Flight: On time. Train connection: No problem. I got to Avignon just before noon, as scheduled, and so finally my long-running travel jinx is broken. Sort of. My GPS didn’t exactly have the new roundabout on it, and I spent a few extra minutes getting to my hotel, but that hardly counts.
