TV cohost

Tasting Beat: Guest blogger

My name is Claudine Pépin, and I am the cohost, with my father Jacques Pépin, of three public television series: Jacques Pépin's Kitchen: Cooking With Claudine, Jacques Pépin's Kitchen: Encore With Claudine and Jacques Pépin Celebrates.

I earned an undergraduate degree in political science and philosophy from Boston University, and then did graduate work there in international relations, before going to work in the wine world. For two years, I was the New York metropolitan manager for the Artisans & Estates and Kendall-Jackson groups of California wineries. I then spent two years as the brand ambassador for Moët & Chandon and Dom Pérignon Champagne in New York, while also teaching food-and-wine pairing for both the French Culinary Institute and the Sommelier Society in New York. In 2002, I was deeply honored to be named "Woman of the Year" by the Academie Culinaire de France — Filiale des Etas Unis.

I now live in Denver with my husband, Rolland Wesen (who is, like my father, a chef), and our daughter, Shorey Evelyn. I'm teaching hands-on classes at A Cook's Kitchen, which is a brand-new cooking school here in Denver. I'm looking forward to blogging about my experiences new and old with wine, food, France, America, life in the mountains and life in the spotlight; I'm also looking forward to reading your comments and answering your questions.
