Collecting Q&A: Napoleonic Cognac
Peter D. Meltzer
Posted: Thursday, August 14, 2008
Q: I have a Cognac bottle that was a gift to an ancestor of my wife from an officer of Napoleon's army back when Maximilian Von Habsburg was the viceroy of Mexico. Please let me know if this bottle has any commercial value--Ludovic Anacleto
A: Wine Spectator's auction database does not track the sale of Cognacs. I would suggest that you send an image to Hart Davis Hart or Christie's auction houses, both of which are developing a spirits division.
