Comment: I was very impressed with the food and service on my initial visit. Wanting to share that good experience with our adult children my husband, children and I dropped in on the chop house one evening during the summer to a partially filled dining room, no wait and a foolish young hostess eager to close for the evening. With 45 minutes til close of the kitchen she refused to seat us thus losing substantial business for her boss and a healthy tip for some waiter. We ate at Bistro Jeanty in Yountville and haven't bothered with Cole's Chop House since. My son and daughter have experience waiting tables in resort communities and were shocked we were turned away. They were quite sure someone in the restaurant would have appreciated the 20+% tip Dad usually leaves on our dinners for four with wine.
