Rick and Gale: Wow, from our first blog to this last one, how time flew! For two people who never blogged before, we were just getting into it, and now it is time to quit ...
As it has turned out, a lot of the people whose acquaintance we made Italy, the vintners and winemakers who showed us their world over there, have come to visit us in Chicago for the Wine Spectator Grand Tour—our hotel out in Wheeling was filled up with such luminaries as Luigi Scavino of Azelia, Domenico Clerico of Clerico, Caterina Dei of Dei, Giovanni Dubini of Il Palazzone and Gianfranco Gallo of Vie di Romans.
