Auction Index Slips Slightly in First Quarters

61 Bordeaux and Italy contribute to drop in low volume sales

The Wine Spectator Auction Index slipped less than 1 percent, from 187 to 186, in the first quarter of 2002. Dollar volume fell by half to approximately $11.5 million—no surprise in the postholiday season.....
